2 x 4 Tigerwood – Stylish Structural Support

Known for it’s striking appearance, Tigerwood is one of the most unique decking options we carry. The 2 x 4 Tigerwood profile is perfect for adding an extra level of structural support to any of your outdoor project ideas. It is a great option for gazebos, studs, pergolas, railing caps and more! This profile is slowly milled in our mills across the country down to a net ‘finished’ dimension of approximately 1 1/2″ thick by 3 1/2″ wide. It is available in lengths from four feet long to twenty feet long.

Tigerwood has beautiful grains colors, from reddish brown to light golden brown, with exotic black streaks throughout. It’s beautiful dense grain is also the source for many of the benefits that Tigerwood brings to the table.

Tigerwood has a long lifespan of up to and over 30 years. It’s a hardwood that you can install and rest assured that it will look great for decades to come. It also has the ability to resist wood rot, mold, decay and wood boring insects. You won’t have to worry about your deck boards structural integrity throughout their lifespan. Tigerwood is also highly slip and scratch resistant, making it safe for bare feet and a great option to install on docks or near pool decks.

On top of those great benefits Tigerwood is also very low maintenance. Over it’s lifespan it will only require an occasional surface cleaning to ensure that your deck will stay clean and beautiful. Like most wood Tigerwood will naturally age to a smooth silvery patina over time, especially with constant sun exposure. this will not effect the lifespan and durability of your deck though, and many customers choose to go this route as it allows for the lowest level of maintenance possible.

If a customer is looking to preserve Tigerwoods bold unique appearance though this can be done easily with an ocasional application of Ipe Oil. Ipe Oil is a UV protector hardwood finish that helps lock in the grain color in your wood. An occasional application will help keep your deck looking newly installed for years to come.

All of our Tigerwood comes from responsibly managed sources. Keeping the forests healthy is an important job and we ensure that every board we sell comes from a sustainable source that is well managed. We offer FSC certified products, which are overseen by the Forest Stewardship Counsel every step of the way from logging to installation at your home.

Tigerwood is a decking material that will leave a lasting impression on you and anyone who sets foot on your decking project.
