Cumaru Rainscreen Siding – Furnish Me Vintage
Cumaru Rainscreen Siding on Mid Century Modern Furniture Store
Furnish Me Vintage is a mid century modern furniture store located in Downtown St Petersburg, Florida. This multi level store houses four floors of selections. The building used to be the old Gaslight Antiques furniture store. It was bright pink and stuck out on busy Central Ave. Under new management, the owners decided to swap the pink for some clean and classic hardwood. They outfitted the front with beautiful cumaru rainscreen siding.
Florida is a tough place to get anything to last outdoors. It’s hot and humid. It is called the “Sunshine State,” and although there is a fair amount of sunlight, there’s just as much rain in the summer time. When choosing a material to put outside, you want to make sure that it’s of quality and it’s going to last.
The owners of Furnish Me Vintage wanted to convey a message with the design of the outside of the building. They felt the wood paneling effect of the cumaru rainscreen siding would bring what they’re doing on the inside to the outside.
This store has been in the same location for three years and it wasn’t until they put the cumaru rainscreen siding on the front, that they noticed an increase in foot traffic. They have been thrilled with the quality of the product and how well it’d held up under the extreme weather conditions of Florida.
Jackie, the co owner, said that after the cumaru rainscreen siding was installed they had several of the scraps sitting in the corner and customers would constantly walk over and pick them up. They wanted to know what it was and how they could get some.
Furnish Me Vintage’s choice of cumaru rainscreen siding helped enhance the historic Downtown St Petersburg neighborhood and has been a great way to attract more customers into their store.
