Hardwood Ipe Siding, Decking and Tiles Video
Hardwood Ipe Siding, Decking & Tiles Look Great in this Outdoor Renovation!
In this video you’ll discover why Mike Carter, of Mike Carter Construction, chose Advantage Lumber’s hardwood ipe siding, decking and deck tiles to renovate a backyard area for his client. Included in the renovations are an outdoor shower constructed hardwood ipe shiplap siding, as well as ipe anti-slip deck tiles installed on the floor. Ipe hardwood also frames out the top of this custom shower giving a pergola appearance.
“We chose the Advantage Lumber Ipe Hardwood on this particular custom home for an exterior renovation that included one by product for unique benches, dimensional lumber for an exterior shower room, and some horizontal siding products for accents in the outdoor lanai,” says Mike Carter, President of Mike Carter Construction.
This custom renovation also utilized 20×20 ipe anti-slip deck tiles installed into a custom rock garden which leads up to the shower. The slip-resistant quality of ipe hardwood makes it the perfect material for this shower application.
The hardwood ipe siding continues throughout the porch wall where an entertainment center is mounted and also acts as a pocket for the sliding glass doors. This feature makes it easy to transition from the inside of the home to the outside.
Carter continues, “We feel the finished product came out excellent and represents a one of a kind finish for this customer. We’ve used ipe for probably 25 years now and some of those original decks and outdoor products that we’ve built are still in the same dimensional characteristics that they were originally.”
The renovation’s final custom touch is a curved Advantage Ipe hardwood bench, which took very precise skills and craftsmanship to frame out the edge of the porch. There’s no doubt that this application will last in the harsh Florida climate for many years to come.
Carter concludes by saying, “Working with the Advantage Lumber Sales Team was a great experience. Not only are they able to deliver a particular product, but they helped us with the technical guidance for proper installation techniques.”
