Ipe Hardwood Used in Horse Stalls – Video
Ipe Hardwood Can Withstand the Strength of a Horse!
Advantage Lumber’s Ipe hardwood is so tough that it can withstand daily abuse from horses! See in this video why Jack B. of Myakka, Fl chose to build his horse stalls and barn out of ipe hardwood, instead of replacing the pine wood that was once filled the barn.
He stands firm in his words, “you spend the money once and you’d really be satisfied.”
Ipe hardwood has a natural lifespan of over 75 years. Throughout the years it maintains its dimensional stability, even in the grueling Florida environment. He’s very happy with how the project turned out.
He continues, “We’ve been very pleased with this product.”
When you step foot inside this horse barn, you see that every stall is built out of ipe. Each stall in complimented with green gates and fences. In a setting such as a horse barn, the product must be durable enough to hold up to the elements.
“The horses were less likely to beat their stalls up because of the density of the wood. When they kick it, it doesn’t dent, and they can’t chew on it.”
There is one garage door that is still made out of pine and it’s slowly rotting away. When we asked about the maintenance of the pine to the ipe hardwood, it’s clear which product is the exceptional one.
“The only maintenance we have to do to the ipe door, once it’s been built, is we oil it every so often.”
Working with AdvantageLumber.com was an experience that Jack enjoyed. This is what he had to say:
“I certainly would recommend the ipe lumber and Advantage Lumber to anyone interested in doing these types of projects because the product is superior to anything out on the market and the customer services through them is very satisfying. I don’t have any complaints.”
