Tongue and Groove Ipe Porch in Georgia – Video
Tongue and Groove Ipe Gives Homeowner a Safe Porch
In this video you’ll meet James, a homeowner, and Chase, his contractor, and you’ll learn why they decided to use tongue and groove ipe on this gorgeous southern home.
“We wanted to create a unique and different looking backyard,” says James, “and with our contractor’s help and some design expertise, we wanted to put together a deck and a backyard that would last forever.”
Ipe has been proven to last for over 75 years without any chemical treatment.
James continues, “Using Ipe was one of the main reasons in getting that goal. We wanted to use a wood product we’d never have to replace.”
On the back porch, tongue and groove ipe decking can be seen.
“We really enjoyed using the tongue and groove product from Advantage Lumber, because it was very smooth, it was very even. I can come out here in my bare feet, or socks, and I don’t have to worry about splinters. It’s comfortable to walk on. I know it’s not going to hurt the kids or anyone else out here walking barefoot through to the pool.”
Ipe is the perfect material for pool decks because it’s slip resistant, and it doesn’t splinter.
When you walk through the property you’ll see that James and Chase chose to use ipe in several different applications. There is a beautiful spa surrounding, columns, cabinet doors on an outdoor kitchen, and even outdoor bathroom door! Since they bought the material from the supplier directly, James and Chase saved money on the entire project.
“The ability to deal with the company directly and the help that they gave us, and my contractor, and all the things he had to do was just outstanding.”
Chase adds, “I thoroughly enjoyed working with AdvantageLumber.com and I look forward to my next project where I can work with them again.”
